Interstellar filming-location
Hey there
This is my take on location hunting. The following picture-posts show the most likely location of the Cooper-farmhouse from the outstanding Christopher Nolan - film "Interstellar". I found this, scouting the area around a shooting location, which was posted on imdb.com. A huge patch of land which at one point could have been a cornfield is cut in two by what seems to be a paved road. This road apparently didn't exist a few years ago. Furthermore its existence doesn't really make sense because it cuts through a wide open space and ends nowhere. So that certainly was one hint! Of course there's that creek that can be seen in the movie. The property sits mostly on level ground. In the south, it borders on rolling hills and far west, the canadian rockies can clearly be seen - as depicted in the movie. So there's hint no. two. All in all, I think the back-to-back comparison of the movie-still and the streetview image solidify my theory.
So that's that. I highly recommend to go buy a copy of the movie. It is very well made and the story is very intriguing!
Off to making movies, many thanks for reading,
Andreas
