guidelinefilm now consists of three people. Me, myself and I...no...A good friend of mine who likes acting (especially the physical stuff), Antonio, my wife Tabea and myself, Andreas.
Tabea has up until now taken mainly the positions of producer, makeup-artist, camera-assistant and she does acting too. When everything is on the verge of falling apart on the day of shooting...she's the one who holds the pieces together! My job is story-telling. From conceiving an idea, to the conceptual work of boiling down that idea into shotlists and storyboards, to eventually the shooting and the process of post production.
We started out in 2004 and did a lot of experimental Super-8 stuff. Apart from wasting lots of stock it really helped me understand lenses and due to the obvious cost-factor of film we rehearsed a lot and learned about the value of time. Since 2006 we are working with the 06-model of the Sony-Cybershot camera (see attached pic). It's somewhat of the opposite of a good Super-8 camera but it suited a different purpose just perfectly. Now as the director and camera operator I could focus all my attention on lighting and on what was going on within the frame. The next step will be combining the two experiences and therefor working with a more elaborate camera and bringing maximum attention to the shot itself, at the same time.
So that's that for now... please don't hesitate to ask questions! We certainly appreciate it.
Cheers
