...YOU are no exception!

Imagine: two guys and a girl sitting around a campfire. It's dark and cold. Another scary story is being passed around. One of the boys had recently turned blind, due to an accident. He still is in terrible pain. Suddenly they find out that their nearby parked car is missing. One guy walks off  in search of the vehicle...and never returns. In utter shock and with terror creeping up on them, the remaining two -the girl and the blind guy- realize that their sourroundings are changing and become unrecognizable to them. What do they do? Should they stay put and wait? Should they venture out into the darkness? ...They try to recall what had happened that day? What has led them to this fireplace and into this misery, and more importantly, why did they get lost?

THE CAR-RIG

We're still in pre-production of guidelinefilm's new piece. For a pivotal scene we are going to need this:

Enter: the car-rig.

It's entirely made from 40 bucks worth of home depot - stuff. It can be mounted on any smooth surface of a car (or elsewhere); horizontally as well as vertically.  It'll be grand!

Motion Control: Step 2:

Hi y'all...

This is the base of the motion control rig, I intend to build.
It's a very lightweight linear track with belt drive. It is capable of speeds up to 3 m/s and can work at a repeat accuracy of about 0,3 mm. The maximum traverse way is 2000 mm.

So that ought to do. It's gonna be axis one. Two and three will be pan and focus-pull.

So...I'll let you know how this crazy thing evolves and turns out.

the new film

These are two pages from a set of shotlists I made already a couple of years ago.
Back then I already had sketched out three critical elements of the story. One of which was and will be a very physical stunt involving a car and a person.

This has a pivotal meaning in guidelinefilm's new project: The Motion Control - system.

In the upcoming posts I will show the progress on the building of the mo-co rig. Also there will frequently be new stuff about the new story and its developement.
